A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

My husband and I decided to downsize a few years ago. We sold our home and purchased a little vintage mobile home that we call our trondo. We are still in the process of “jazzing” it up and that is keeping me very busy. I love to camp, travel, take advantage of all of the wonderful events that happen in our neck of the woods and the blues.

2. Why do you make art?

I have always been a creative person. My first artistic expression was dance, which I pursued for 10 years starting at age 6. In middle school and high school, I discovered a love of writing that persists to this day. I also sang in choir and taught myself to play piano. But, I have found that the visual arts, photography in particular, has been able to satisfy my creative outlet in a way that the other mediums did not. The fundamental pillar of my creative expression is that I love a good learning curve. When I'm not learning something new, my inspiration tends to wane. The art and science of photography provides an infinite learning experience for me.

3. What inspires you?

Everything.

4. What/who are your influences?

An insatiable curiosity is my influence.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Ken Burns, American documentary filmmaker. Everything about his works - the visual stories, narratives and sound tracks - are extraordinary!
